Nutella Molten Chocolate Cake

Sometimes, all you need to brighten up your Sunday blues is a big tub of Nutella and a spoon (or fingers, whatever works for you!). I was feeling particularly down one day and my husband decided to surprise me with a gift; a 5KG tub of Nutella!!!

Now i know how awesome that sounds.. a year’s stock of chocolate-y hazelnut goodness, an end to my midnight chocolate cravings, a new best friend to share my sorrows with.. Problem is, it’s been 32 weeks and our tub of Nutella is still more than half-full with only a MONTH left till it’s expiry date. You see, we sorta took it for granted.. too much of a good thing.. You only know what you have till it’s gone.. etc.

My new mission this month is to try as many Nutella recipes as possible and get the most out of our tub before it bids us farewell. Here it goes..

Nutella Molten Chocolate Cake Recipe

This molten chocolate cake is very rich in taste and extremely delicious!! It takes a minimal amount of time to prepare yet makes you look like a pro.. Make sure you’re not counting calories on the day you make this or you’ll have to make-do with a spoonful (I live a sad sad life). You can find the recipe Here.

I was feeling a little adventurous yesterday and decided to add even more chocolate, you just can’t go wrong with chocolate right!

Marwa’s All-Kinds-Of-Chocolate Molten Cake Recipe

80 grams unsalted butter (a tiny bit more than 3/4 of a 100g stick)
1 cup bittersweet Chocolate Chips (i used Hersheys)
1 Galaxy Bar (oh yes I did!)
3 whole eggs + 3 additional egg yolks
1/4 cup sugar + 2 additional tablespoons
 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3-4 tablespoons Milk
8 Oreo Biscuits
4 tablespoons Nutella
What to do:
I went with the original recipe for the cake batter.. Only addition was melting a galaxy bar with the choco chips & butter (I ditched the water bath and it came out just fine.. make sure you keep stirring though)
Heat the oreos & milk on slow fire until they all melt and you get a thick oreo cookie paste.
Place a tablespoon of Oreo Paste on the bottom of your ramekins, pour cake batter on top filling it halfway, add a tablespoon of nutella and pour more cake batter to cover it all up (make sure you don’t overfill). Stick them in the oven for around 15 mins (until cake looks cooked but jiggles a bit). Top with a scoop of your favourite vanilla ice-cream, smother with chocolate syrup & caramel.
 Bon Appetit!! xx
